Dengue virus belongs to a serotype subgroup of flavivirus in flaviviridae. Its morphological structure is similar to that of Japanese encephalitis virus, but its size is smaller, about 17 ~ 25 nm. Dengue virus can be divided into four serotypes I, II, III and IV according to antigenicity, and different strains in the same type also have antigen differences.The virus is mainly transmitted by vector insects such as Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus, causing dengue fever as well as dengue hemorrhagic fever and dengue shock syndrome with high morbidity and mortality.Patients and latent infections are the main sources of infection of this disease, and primates in the jungle are animal hosts that maintain the circulation of the virus in nature.
