Bluetongue is a non-contact infectious disease caused by the bluetongue virus (BTV) of the Reoviridae family that mainly attacks ruminants such as sheep or cattle. It is mainly transmitted by the bite of Culicoides to its ruminant hosts. Sheep, goats and cattle are the main susceptible animals to this disease. Camels and wild ruminants can also be infected with this disease. Its symptoms are severe catarrhal inflammation of the buccal mucosa and gastrointestinal mucosa. Infected animals are depressed, lose their appetite, often have bloody diarrhea, and often lame due to the shedding of the hoof crown epithelium. At present, there is no very effective prevention and treatment method for bluetongue. Rapid diagnosis and rapid treatment of the pathogen of bluetongue are the main methods to control this disease.
This kit is suitable for detecting bluetongue virus RNA in animal spleen, lymph node, liver, kidney tissue, semen samples and other specimens, and is suitable for auxiliary diagnosis of bluetongue virus infection.
